Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN as a SportsCenter News Anchor. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins is bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami which allowed her to collaborate with producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her next job was as an Sports Reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley to work as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. The stories she wrote about covered immigration drugs, immigration, as well as other issues on both the Texas as well as the Mexico border. She was also an anchor and Spanish reporter at the newscast of 5 p.m. and anchor and reporter on the newscast from nine p.m. on English and also a Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. She was also often asked to be a sports and weather anchor. Later, she was the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her greater responsibilities. She also played the job for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother got married to one of the naval architects known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a vacation Antonietta spent the time at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Antonietta was a senior in high school who had a vision of how she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University in order to find out what she could get out of the college. She discovered that she liked the campus and that the school had the program she desired. She graduated from school and was enrolled at the university with an undergraduate major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she's a part. They developed a close connection. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his enthusiasm for journalism.
